LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Cape Coral man has been charged with making a bomb threat after a utility company informed him about an overdue bill.

57-year-old David Munoz has been charged with Threat to Bomb/Destructive Device and booked in the Lee County Jail.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, Munoz contacted the Lee County Electric Cooperative about his electric bill.  When the representative informed him that his bill was going to be delinquent, Munoz reportedly made threats to blow up the LCEC building.

Deputies responded with an investigation and took Munoz into custody at his home Thursday night.

He was released on bond early Friday morning.
