A Collier County woman is upset over what she considers an inappropriate mailer from the Florida Democratic Party.

Barbara Hunt of Naples told Fox 4 that the mailer seems to be designed to appeal to children, but has offensive language inside, including quotes attributed to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

The quotes are from various media sources such as USA Today and The New York Times, that indicate Trump has been cited as referring to certain women as "fat pigs" and "dogs." The quotes are surrounded by pink female cutout figures.

"I'm not a prude," Hunt said. "I can take it and throw it away if I don't want it. But when a child opens it up, it's a different story."

Hunt said she and her 11-year-old granddaughter had just gotten home from the store one day last week when she asked her granddaughter to grab the mail. The mailer from the Florida Democratic Party was on top. The folder mailer featured a pink superhero cutout figure on the cover.

"She opened it up and said 'Granny, what is this?'" Hunt said. "I said 'oh my goodness, you know what? This isn't appropriate for you.'"

One of the quotes dates from the early 1990s article in Esquire Magazine, quoting Trump as describing a woman as a "young and beautiful piece of a--." Above the cutout figures and quotes is the caption, "His words make us feel worthless."

Hunt wrote a letter to the Florida Democratic Party to tell them the mailer shouldn't have been made to look appealing to kids.

"This should have been sealed in some way, just in case a child did get this into their hands," Hunt said.

Fox 4 reached out to the Florida Democratic Party to see if they could respond to Hunt's concerns, but we have yet to hear back.
