NAPLES Fla.- Friends, family and fans flooded Lazaro Arbos' old gig Rita's Italian Ice in Naples to celebrate their local hero. His little sister Jany said she couldn't believe the crowd.
" This is incredible so surreal, I'm so proud of my brother." Jany Arbos said.
They were sporting pink t-shirts and waving Lazaro signs, family members said they were overcome with pride and joy.
" He's just so amazing every time I see him on TV I just start crying I still can't believe he's on there." Lazaro's cousin Grether Diaz said.
The Naples community and the rest of America have another week to watch Lazaro shine.
" I wish I could be there supporting him it's way different being in the stands but I'm still speechless." Jany Arbos said.
Emily Gipson's been by her best bud Lazaro's side since day one taking him to his first audition in Chicago. Now, thousands of miles away, she still talks to him almost everyday. Just to remind Lazaro he's in the hearts of Southwest Floridians.
" Last night I texted him congrats, he did awesome job. He responded "oh well it could've been better. There's pictures of him all over the wall it's kind of funny but its so nice to see them backing him." Emily Gipson said.
You can see Lazaro sing live again Wednesday night at 8, on FOX 4.
