BONITA SPRINGS, Fla.-
Last week Lee Memorial Health system announced plans to build a new 80 bed hospital in Bonita Springs. Now, we're told Health Management Associates wants in on the project.
Thursday a hospital board of directors voted unanimously to allow Lee Memorial to proceed with plans for the new hospital. But, they also voted to have the health system discuss a possible collaboration with Naples based, HMA. A Lee Memorial spokesperson said HMA's Sr. Vice President of Florida Operations sent them an email saying they would like to meet and discuss the ways the systems can work together and benefit the community. The Lee Memorial spokesperson said there are details on the collaboration but they plan to meet with HMA in the near future.
