Fort Myers country singer Mindy McCready found dead
HEBER SPRINGS, ARK - Troubled country star Mindy McCready is dead of an apparent suicide at age 37. The coroner in Cleburne County, Arkansas, says McCready died Sunday in Heber Springs of what appears to be a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound. She was found in the same place where her longtime boyfriend is believed to have committed suicide just weeks ago. McCready hit the top of the country charts in the mid-1990's.. but personal problems began to derail her career beginning in 2004, including a custody battle with her mother over one of her sons. She made headlines in recent years for an affair with Roger Clemens, erratic behavior, and drug problems.
