2 arrested after 5 crashes close I-75 near airport Sunday morning
ESTERO, Fla. -- Five separate crashes involving six vehicles closed I-75 southbound south of Alico Road for several hours Sunday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the first crash happened just after 2 a.m. near mile marker 126. Four crashes followed involving six vehicles, nine passengers causing eight injuries.
Troopers arrested two men for DUI. 23-year-old Andrew Rojas of Estero and 34-year-old Andres Hernandez-Dominguez of Naples both faces charges of driving under the influence and careless driving.
Of the eight injured, only one was hurt seriously, seven-year-old David Hernandes of Naples.
I-75 re-opened at 9:45 a.m.
