Thousands attend Naples annual Christmas parade
NAPLES – There was holiday cheer in Naples on Tuesday night for the city's annual Christmas parade.
"This is the first time and my daughter and I are attending the parade and we're having a great time," said Clay Brooker, a longtime Naples resident.
The Naples High School marching band was just one of the performances that snaked north on 3rd St. and then south on 5th Ave.
Thousands of people lined the streets to watch the floats, a City of Naples fire truck with candy being tossed from the windows and even Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk, who was decked out in a festive outfit - a necktie lined with Christmas lights.
Among those in the crowd was a 28 year resident of the Naples community who has attended the parade for years, but this year she is enjoying it with her 10 month old son.
"Just to being him to see the lights and activity and experience it and get ready to be part of the Naples," said Nikki Bruner.
Organizers also hope that the huge crowds would help give a holiday boost to the restaurants and retails stores located along the parade route.
