NAPLES - A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Thursday to mark the official opening of a brand new Publix supermarket at Naples Plaza.

 
Construction crews have worked for several months to rip down and rebuild the facility at the corner of Golden Gate Boulevard and U.S. 41. 
 
The new 56,000 square foot facility will be feature a natural and organic product as well as a soup and salad bar.
 
In addition, there will be an 11,000 square foot liquor store on the property.
 
"We knew it was a challenge to make it before Christmas and we've made it so the shoppers should be happy and my wife is going to be happy because she said it better get open," said City of Naples Mayor Tom Sorey.
 
The developers also updated and remodeled the façade of Naples Plaza.  
 
The total cost of the project was estimated at 8.1 million dollars.
