SWFL - Are there UFO's in the skies over Southwest Florida?  Bright lights in the skies for months.  Many of you taping them then sending us the footage.

Folks from Fort Myers and Cape Coral sending us that video they filmed on their cell phones.  All of them swearing what they saw were indeed UFO's.

But the more we have broadcast these videos, the more we hear the lights are actually sky lanterns which you can buy at fireworks stores.  So, we showed some of that video of supposed UFO's to the manager of a Fort Myers fireworks shop.

"Those are sky lanterns,"said Mel Crawford.

Crawford says they became popular after being seen on the show, "Deadlist Catch."  One of the boats was playing a joke on the other one.

"Thats when the sky lanterns became mainstream," said Crawford.

So, is the mystery solved?  Are these lights indeed sky lanterns?  Weeks ago, another Cape man who filmed the mystery lights was convinced otherwise.

"They are UFO's," said the man.

Crawford is rather amused by all the fuss re-emphasizing the SWFL UFO mystery is nothing more than a ten dollar lantern.
