LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Things appear normal at southwest Florida International from the outside looking in.

Flights on time for the most part, steady traffic, and many snowbirds making their way down here to second homes and condos.  So, what is the problem?

Many finding it difficult to rent a car.  Rachel Stewart from Atlanta was looking to rent a car for the weekend, she's getting married tomorrow.

"No one has one and they told us we have to go online and reserve one," said Stewart.

Detroit resident Jean Casey came down to spend some time at her Naples condo she reserved a car in advance but -

"I had one reserved but then the price went up and she told me I had to wait until later today to pick it up," said Casey.

Boston resident Gail Hayes just wanted to keep her rental a few days longer but there was a price to pay.

"I'm gonna keep the car and pay the higher extra rate," said Hayes.

We asked Enterprise to tell us why the shortage or rentals.  They said, "The influx of customers coming south for the Veterans holiday and there are fewer cars on the market because of the storms in the Northeast."
