LEE COUNTY, Fla. - It was in the Tice area of Fort Myers on Wednesday afternoon, Lee County Commissioner Brian Bigelow and 19 year old David Henley were seen in Bigelow's car pulled up to a known drug house on Ione Avenue.

The deputy who saw it all go down talked to us Thursday afternoon.  According to his report, he said he observed a possible drug transaction between a woman at the house and one of the men in Bigelow's car.  The deputy stopped the car after it failed to stop at a nearby intersection.  The deputy says he smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.  A local business owner saw the whole thing.

"You could smell it," he said.

Henley was driving Bigelow's rented vehicle and didn't have a license.  After a search, deputies found marijuana and cocaine on Henley. They found prescription pain pills in the car and Bigelow admitted they were his.  That business owner said Bigelow seemed very nervous.

"Embarrassed, head shaking, head hanging," said the business owner.

Henley was arrested for drug possession and driving without a license and Bigelow was cited for allowing an unauthorized person to drive a motor vehicle.  We tried to talk to Bigelow today but he wasn't in his office.
