CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - The mother of murder victim Tara Sidarovich beside herself in grief being embraced by Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Cameron.

"She was a happy person," said Tara's mother Sharon McPhillips.

19 year old Tara Sidarovich was young and beautiful in October of 2001, when she was taken from  her home on Westwood Avenue in Punta Gorda.

"Our cold case investigators are to be commended," said Sheriff Bill Cameron.

Just about less than a year after Tara disappeared her body was found here off of Burnt Store Road in Punta Gorda not far from the road  is where investigators found her body and an autopsy was performed and it was determined she had been murdered.

Police believe one of her killers is David Ray McMannus who was arrested in Maryland on Friday and the other suspect is identified as Phillip Gavin Barr who remains at large.  The case has gone unsolved for over a decade until now.  New evidence has apparently been discovered linking both McMannus and Barr to the crime in fact both men over the years have been questioned by Police.
