Accused cop killer's lawyer talking to Fox 4
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Cape Coral attorney Stuart Pepper says his client Scott Sica did not kill North Carolina police officer Gregory Martin.
"He didn't do it," said Pepper.
US Marshall's arrested Sica last week at his Cape Coral home 16 years after officer Martin's death. We are now learning the day before Sica was arrested the FBI and local authorities paid him a visit.
"They took him to the substation where they got DNA, hair, and fingerprints and then let him go home," said Pepper.
Less than 24 hours later investigators say "physical evidence" led to Sica's arrest on charges of murdering officer Martin.
"And no one has told him what evidence they have that connects him to the crime scene," said Pepper.
And then I asked about Sica's criminal past. He served a total of seven years for two separate armed robberies.
"He did his time in prison got out and successfully finished probation and he's been living in town with no problems," said Pepper.
