Lee County deputy hits pedestrian
Was responding to another call
FORT MYERS -- A Lee County County Sheriff's Deputy responding to a call, struck a pedestrian early Saturday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the marked patrol car, driven by Christopher Meyer, 27, of Fort Myers was traveling east on San Carlos Blvd. responding to a disorderly call when a pedestrian started walking across the road.
The front of the patrol car hit the woman, identified as Megan Conway, 18, of Bonita Springs. The impact knocked Conway into a ditch along the shoulder of the road.
Conway was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
