FedEx Cup Champion to Play in Naples Golf Event
Snedeker in field for Franklin Templeton Shootout
NAPLES, Fla. - FedEx Cup Champion Brandt Snedeker is among seven Ryder Cup players who will tee it up in the annual Franklin Templeton Shootout this December at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples. Snedeker will be among 24 players who will join host Greg Norman for the 24th edition of the event, which will be played this year at Tiburon Golf Club from Dec. 5-9. Last year's defending champions Keegan Bradley and Brendan Steele will return to defend their title, hoping to become the first back-to-back winners of the event since 2004. Other participants this year include Stewart Cink, Jason Dufner, Rickie Fowler, Fredrik Jacobson, Dustin Johnson, Jerry Kelly, Justin Leonard, Sean O'Hair, Kenny Perry, Ian Poulter, Vijay Singh, Steve Stricker, Scott Verplank and Mike Weir. The remaining six competitors will be announced in the coming weeks. The 24 players will be divided into 12 two-man teams, which are expected to be announced before November. The Franklin Templeton Shootout will feature a modified alternate-shot format during the first round, a better ball Saturday and a final-round scramble.
