Cape pedestrian struck by car - all caught on video
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - 1:36 PM Wednesday afternoon. A surveillance camera from the NAPA Auto Center on Cape Coral Parkway with a view of Vincennes looks like any other normal afternoon, right? Well, not exactly according to Auto Center owner Wes Dale.
"I was standing over there, was talking to a customer and heard a big thump and looked up and saw a woman bouncing off the hood of a car," said Dale.
The pedestrian, a woman, is crossing Vincennes. First, a burgundy colored SUV passes the pedestrian. Then a dark colored sedan also turning into Vincennes, strikes the woman she tumbles over the hood. The impact throws the woman in the air and she lands on the pavement. The car comes to an abrupt stop.
"I saw her bounce literally off the ground,' said Dale
Meanwhile, the driver literally jumps out of his vehicle.
"He got out of the car screaming, someday call 911," said Hale.
Wes was outside his business talking to a customer when he saw the whole thing happen.
Just moments after the pedestrian was struck she was laying injured in the middle of the road. Hale approached her but he didn't want to move her for fear of creating even more injury.
Wes says the woman had a leg injury and was bleeding from her face and was unconscious at first.
"She didn't know where she was," said Dale.
An ambulance took the unidentified woman to the hospital where she is said to be recovering from her injuries.
