Manhunt continues after murder suspect spotted in Cape Coral
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - 26 year old Fillipe Torrealba still wanted in connection with a Miami murder. Over the last two days he has been spotted in Cape Coral.
A Lee County Sheriff's office helicopter patroling the skies over the Cape late today after a resident called in a tip that they spotted the suspect. Police set up a temporary command post off of Chiquita as heavily armed officers searched neighborhoods. 6 schools including Ida Baker were put on lockdown as the search intensified but came up empty.;
Flashback to Wednesday night. Torrealba spotted by a resident off of Southwest 20th Avenue running from a home. Police mobilized using k-9 units and even stopping vehicles. Police telling residents to stay inside.
'i'm keeping the doors locked," said one resident.
At a nearby horse stable owner Elaine Hollis tells us Police swarmed her property last night looking for the suspect.
Torrealba eluded Police last week in Lehigh Acres where he was holed up inside a home, he once again escaped the grasp of the law,.
