Activity in Tropics picking up
All eyes on are Tropical Depression 9 located about 700 miles east of the Leeward Islands. It is currently moving due west at 20 mph and expected to continue moving west for the next couple of days. On the forecast track Tropical Depression 9 is expected to strengthen to tropical storm strength later today and continue to strengthen to as strong as category 2 strength as it approaches Cuba from the southeast. The forecast track does include a turn to the north over the weekend; however, there is quite a bit of uncertainty as to its impact on Florida.
