Punta Gorda Man accused of stealing more airplane parts
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- A Punta Gorda man accused of stealing airplane parts and selling them for scrap is facing new charges for doing the same thing a few days earlier.
Joshua Shane Crider, 31, of Punta Gorda was already facing felony charges for stealing aircraft parts from the Shell Creek Airport on Aug. 6th.
Now, the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office says Crider is accused of selling even more airplane parts Aug. 2 to a Fort Myers recycler. Detectives made the discovery after checking with scrap metals dealers across Southwest Florida.
The combined value of the two thefts totals more than $10,000. Crider is currently in custody at the Charlotte County Jail.
