Neighborhood Speed Zone in Fort Myers
A Lee County school bus appears to be speeding down Staley Road in East Fort Myers. But this is just one of them another one goes even faster. It's all being filmed by resident James Williams. The driver sees Williams filming and slows down. The road is clearly posted with a sign that reads 30 MPH. But James says no one seems to obey the law.
"They don't like doing it, they do 45,' said Williams.
James also says he filmed county DOT vehicles on this road speeding as well. He says he has been filming speeders for close to two years.
"I have 2 grandchildren that like to come out here and ride their bike in the yard,' said Williams.
But school buses and County DOT vehicles aren't the only vehicles ignoring the posted limit. He filmed an ATV being chased by a police cruiser with speeds reaching close to 100mph according to James.
James says he has filed complaints with the Sheriff's office, the school district and the sheriff's office. The sheriff;s office says they are routinely patroling the area.
