Project Groundbreaking to help an injured soldier
Private First Class Corey Kent gets a home makeover
CAPE CORAL -- A local charity is hosting a groundbreaking tomorrow on a project to make an injured Southwest Floridian feel more at home.
Private First Class Corey Kent arrived back in Cape Coral this weekend.
He lost both of his legs and some of his fingers while serving in Afghanistan. The local non-profit U.S. Forces fund is going to start working on a private addition to his home with the help of builder Todd Gates.
This addition makes it easier for Kent to come and go. We recently spoke with his stepfather, who says the family's overwhelmed by the community support.
“I can't keep saying it, it's overwhelming, the community support and what they've done and how this has all come together is really exciting for all of us,”
Four in your corner will be at tomorrow's groundbreaking and bring you live reports tomorrow on Fox 4 Rising, starting at 5am.
