New Comic-Con in Southwest Florida expected to draw thousands

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Thousands of pop culture fans are expected to gather in Fort Myers this weekend for a new comic book convention and pop culture event.

SW-Florida Comic-Con takes place Saturday, November 18 from 10 am until 6 pm at the Holiday Inn Fort Myers Airport Town Center Hotel on Commerce Drive.

Organizers say the show has over 100 exhibitors that cater to a wide-spectrum of interests including comic books, magazines, toys, games, movies, television, anime, manga, cosplay, artwork, sketches and apparel plus much more.

A roster of comic industry professionals and fandom-related celebrities are in attendance for attendees to meet and greet, including:

  • Fabian Nicieza - Creator of Deadpool
  • Mark Bagley  - Creator of Carnage, Famous Spider-Man Artist
  • Bob Camp - Creator/Artist of The Famous TV Cartoon Series: Ren & Stimpy 
  • James O’Barr - The Creator of the Famous CROW
  • Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake - WWE Wrestling SuperStar - Hall of Famer
  • Tito Santana - WWE Wrestling SuperStar - Hall of Famer
  • Frazetta Girls- Family Members of the Legendary Artist Frank Frazetta

General Admission tickets are $20.00, and kids under 12 are free. Cosplay, VIP Tickets are $50.00 and Platinum Tickets are $100.00.
