7 Things to do this Weekend, October 6th to 8th in Southwest Florida

There is plenty to do this weekend in SWFL!

We are adding 2 more events to our regular segment for this weekend; yes there is so much going on that we just couldn't decide! So no excuses, go out and have lots of fun this weekend in Southwest Florida. There will be a Pirate Festival, Fall Festival at the Farm, Hunger Game Food Truck and Restaurant competition, the Art Walk, a Community Bazaar, a Rumba Dance Anniversary Party and much more in Southwest Florida.

12th Annual Pirate Festival

FORT MYERS BEACH - Join landlubbing families and pirates from across the country for three days of swashbuckling fun at the 12th Annual Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival. This family friendly event features a pirate bazaar, themed live music and performances, exhilarating live ship battles, children’s activities and the jolly Pub Quest (21+ event). Pirates and landlubbers both young and old are sure to walk away with memories to treasure. Come dressed your pirate best and be sure to enter the costume contests. This is a free event to the public.

Elegant Rumba's Anniversary Party

FORT MYERS - You are cordially invited to celebrate the 10-Year Anniversary of Elegant Rumba Dance Company with an EPIC 3-Day event of professional performances, workshops, beach party, and lots and lots of DANCING! Their honored guest instructors/performers include the legendary Eddie Torres "The Mambo King" (NYC), Edie "The Salsa Freak" (LA), Magna Gopal (NJ), and other professional artists to be announced.

Event time: From Friday to Sunday, 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Art Walk

FORT MYERS - An evening of Visual Arts Gallery Openings and More! Eleven art galleries invite locals and visitors to a self-guided walking tour throughout the Downtown Fort Myers River District core and the Gardner’s Park area. Arts enthusiasts can “Meet the Artist” at most of the art galleries and enjoy the live art demonstrations throughout the River District.

Event time: Friday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Fall Festival at the Farm

FORT MYERS - It's fall y'all! Ok it is fake fall here in Florida, it is still pretty warm but we will pretend it is fall with all the decorations and fun fall activities at the Southern Fresh Farm. Every weekend in October, There will be pumpkins, hayrides, vendors, food, food trucks and much more!

Event time: Saturday, October 7th to October 29th starting at 9:00 am

SWFL Hunger Games

FORT MYERS - It's Food Trucks vs Restaurants at the Inaugural SWFL Hunger Games! Over 30 gourmet food trucks and local restaurants will gather in Top Rocker Field at Six Bends Harley-Davidson to offer their best dishes and compete for 5 awards. There will also be beer stations, local celebrity judges and live entertainment. VIP Ticket holders will have 30 minutes early admission to the event to avoid lines. The $100 fee will be donated to Blessings in a Backpack to feed a child for 1 year.

Community Downtown Street Bazaar

FORT MYERS - The Open Door Shoppes at Hendry Street are having their first Seasonal Community Street Bazaar in Downtown Fort Myers. The street will be closed to traffic in front of the Shoppe and there will be over 40 Vendors participating. Join them for a day of shopping and find some great unique treasures and trinkets.

Food Truck Friday - Hurricane Benefit

FORT MYERS - The weekly food truck rally at Millennial House will continue to be a Hurricane Relief Party to help raise money for those affect by the storm. This week they will have live music featuring The Kimberlys and Personal Kings. Have some amazing food and drinks all while helping support the community!
