PLANT CITY, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a man rammed a
Hillsborough County sergeant's patrol car and tried to run over two
Florida Highway Patrol troopers.
Troopers tried pulling over 49-year-old Michael Joseph Lizzi for
reckless driving in the Plant City area.
The criminal affidavit says while troopers were out of their
vehicles with weapons drawn, Lizzi tried running them over. A shift
commander told the troopers not to chase Lizzi.
The criminal arrest affidavit says Lizzi rammed a patrol car
with a sergeant inside.
Authorities say Lizzi barricaded himself in his car and resisted
arrest.
The affidavit says he was arrested and deputies found a loaded
rifle in his car.
