Serious motorcycle crash on I-75

FORT MYERS, Fl. - One man is at Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition; after he crashed his motorcycle into the back of a pickup truck that was hauling a trailer behind it. The driver of the motorcycle is 25 year-old James Stirk.

The crash happening just before 2:00 a.m. on I-75 at mile marker 129, which is just north of the Alico Road exit.

Officials on scene tell us that the motorcycle crashed into the back of a trailer that was being pulled by a pickup truck, causing the rider and motorcycle to penetrate the trailer.

The rider of the motorcycle James Stirk had to be removed from the trailer. He was airlifted to Lee Memorial with life-threatening injuries.  

All lanes on I-75 are back open this morning. We will bring you any new information as we get it.
