Panther killed on Alligator Alley

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - A panther was struck and killed by a vehicle on Alligator Alley in Collier County.

The remains of the 1-year-old uncollared male panther were found Monday night at about 9:30 near MM 92 on I-75.

The panther was found about 100 yards west of the FakaUnion Canal overpass where the high fencing on Alligator Alley ends.

The remains will be taken to the FWC Wildlife Research Lab in Gainesville for a complete necropsy.

This is the 18th panther death this year and the 15th panther killed by a motor vehicle.
