Trio charged with smuggling into Moore Haven prison

MOORE HAVEN, Fla. - Three men face charges for smuggling contraband into the Moore Haven Correctional Facility.

Glades County Sheriff Stuart Whiddon announced the arrests Monday of 66-year-old Jay Thomas Michaels, 46-year-old Michael Gillen and 36-year-old Christopher Dettmar following an investigators.

All three face two counts of smuggling contraband into a prison. The trio are accused of trying to bring tobacco and synthetic marijuana (also known as K2 or Spice) into the Moore Haven facility where Dettmar is currently incarcerated and from where Gillen had been recently released.
