Thief targets Target stores
FORT MYERS, Fla. - A thief is making a habit of stealing high end electronics from various Target stores across Southwest Florida over the last two months.
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking the public to help identify the man behind the crimes Detectives say they believe the same black male has gone into separate Target locations and stolen expensive electronics, varying from high end cameras to Play Station 4 video gaming consoles.
The first theft happened December 23rd at the Gulf Coast Town Center’s Target location. On January 28, a male fitting the same description stole four Nintendo DX systems from the Target at 15880 San Carlos Boulevard.
The very next day, the man who detectives say is likely the same person, returned to that store, this time taking two Nikon cameras, a Sony Play Station 4 and a Microsoft X Box, for a total value of nearly $2,000.
While detectives believe the same man is associated with these three thefts, it’s possible that he could also be involved with similar recent thefts at other Target locations in Southwest Florida.
Anyone with information on the man wanted for questioning in relation to these thefts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
