Texting and driving simulation in Fort Myers
FORT MYERS - Southwest Florida Christian Academy teens got a lesson in the dangers of texting and driving on Wednesday.
The "It Can Wait" movement came with their texting and driving simulator to demonstrate to young drivers how easy it is to cause an accident when your eyes are on your phone instead of the road.
“It was fun at first, it felt like a video game,” one student said of the simulation. “Until it started getting harder as the texts start coming in, and I ended up crashing at the end."
A nationwide survey finds that 75 percent of teens admit that texting and driving is common among their friends.
