Suspect sought in Fort Myers robbery

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Lee County deputies are on the hunt for a gunman who robbed the Fort Myers Travel Plaza early Saturday morning.

Investigators say around 5:00 a.m. a man walked into the the store at 6050 Plaza Drive and pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money.  He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store. 

The gunman left in a silver four door sedan.  No one was hurt.

The suspect had an orange polo shirt covering his face.  He is described as a thin black male possibly in his 20's approximately 6 foot tall. He was wearing black pants and a black hoody. Photographs of the suspect have been included.

Deputies are requesting the public's help. Several customers were in the store at the time of the robbery and may be able to provide additional information that may help solve this case.
