Suspect in Lehigh Acres double murder captured

PLATTE COUNTY, Wyo - A suspect on the run in a Lehigh Acres double murder was captured Thursday in Wyoming.

24-year-old Steven Tompkins was arrested in Platte County, Wyoming and is being held for extradition on two counts of 2nd degree murder.  Also, found in Tompkins company was 19-year-old Joycelin Luck, a South Carolina woman, now facing two counts of accessory after the fact.

"I am extremely grateful for our law enforcement partners in Wyoming today," said Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott.  "To the State Troopers for the safe apprehension of the two in the fuel starved vehicle and the deputies of the Platte County Sheriff who are temporarily detaining these two wanted felons till we can bring them back to Lee County to face justice."  The Sheriff went on to say, "I have to commend our detectives who worked tirelessly from hour one of this

The bodies of 55-year-old Shelley Tompkins and 22-year-old Daniel Tompkins were found in a home Tuesday night at 1919 Jefferson in Lehigh Acres.
