Port Charlotte man arrested for child pornography

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - A Port Charlotte man was arrested Thursday morning for child pornography.

The FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force, along with members of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at 6:30 a.m at the home of 52-year-old Christopher Colangelo.
Information the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) concerning possible child pornography images that had been posted to an Internet site originating out of the Charlotte County area in October.

Investigators tracked the IP address associated with the suspected child pornography, as well as various email addresses, to Colangelo.
During this morning's search, members of the Computer Crimes Unit located several instances of suspected child pornography.  Three of the images located were confirmed as child pornography images and matched with images allegedly posted by Colangelo to the Internet site.
Colangelo was arrested on three counts of possession of child pornography and three  counts of distribution of child pornography.
