PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The noise from a new car wash in Port Charlotte has some nearby residents screaming.  Some say instead of cleaning cars, they need help cleaning up the noise.

Bill Baird who nearby says, "The blowers to dry the cars off are so loud that it's coming out the back of that right towards my house."

Baird says the noise is waking him up in the morning and he wants to know what, if anything, can be done about it.  He also thinks with snowbirds on the way it’s not going to get any better.

He says, “They're getting busier. The snowbirds are back so the lines are getting longer going in and that blower for the drying system's working all day long. He's got an early bird special, I don't know, he starts at 6:30 or 7 and it goes until after 8 o'clock at night"

So 4 In Your Corner’s Dave Culbreth called the owner.  Dave Woodfield owns Personal Touch Car Wash who was surprised by the noise complaint, “I don't think it travels that far, but, yea it just started a couple of weeks ago and it's bad bearings"

Baird wants the jets shutoff until the repairs are made and let employees hand dry the vehicles.  The owners says he doesn’t want to bother neighbors and is already working on repairs.  Woodland said, "It's a powerful motor and the bearings are , I guess they're seasoned or something and I have the bearings. I already had them delivered and we're getting ready to replace them"

Baird says he’ll let FOX 4 know if the repairs are made.
