North Fort Myers traffic stop results in 2 arrests

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - An traffic stop early Sunday morning in North Fort Myers resulted in the arrest of two Cape Coral men.

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper saw 22-year-old Jose Crismatt pull into the 7-Eleven at U.S. 41 and Littleton Road at a high rate of speed, squealing his tires.  Crismatt got out of his vehicle and ignored the troopers commands to stop.

Then 20-year-old Alexander Crismatt pulled into the same parking lot and was told by the trooper not to interfere and to leave.  At that point the two men approached the trooper and got into a fight.

Jose Crismatt was arrested at the scene while Alexander Crismatt fled in his vehicle.  He later turned himself in to law enforcement.

Jose Crismatt was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and DUI.  Alexander Crismatt was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

The trooper suffered minor injuries as a result of the fight but did not require hospitalization.
