PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - A Port Charlotte man already facing charges for numerous vehicle burglaries is now facing new additional theft charges.

Charlotte County detectives filed additional seven additional charges Monday against 23-year-old Brenton Mitchell Schreer.  He was initially arrested Monday March 31st on a variety of burglary, theft and violation of probation charges after a victim spotted a ladder that had been reported stolen at Schreer’s house.

During the investigation, detectives obtained and served a search warrant at Schreer’s home recovering more property ultimately identified by burglary and theft victims as being their stolen items.  Detectives also learned that he had sold several tools and coins at a local pawn shop on the date of one group of vehicle burglaries.

To date, detectives have been able to link Schreer to 16 separate cases.  He remains in the Charlotte County Jail under a combined total $187,500 bond for the burglary and theft charges.
