More passengers traveling through RSW

FORT MYERS, Fla. - January saw an increase in the number of passengers traveling through Southwest Florida International Airport.

778,163 people went through RSW, an increase of 3 percent compared to January 2013.

The traffic leader in January was Delta with 167,165 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (130,659), JetBlue (83,484), Spirit Airlines (75,525) and US Airways (73,344).

Surprisingly, even with the increase in passenger traffic, the number of takeoffs and landings actually decreased 5.9 percent at RSW compared to January 2013
