REO Speedwagon and Martina McBride are the latest performers to pull out of next year's Bands, Brew & BBQ event at SeaWorld.
It's all because of a documentary called "Blackfish," which exposes alleged abuse of killer whales at the aquatic amusement park. The documentary focuses on the story of a SeaWorld trainers who was killed in 2010 by a killer whale named Tilikum.
The documentary's website describes it as the "first film since Grizzly man to show how nature can get revenge on man when pushed to its limits."
REO Speedwagon is not the first band to cancel their appearance. Cheap Trick, Trisha Yearwood, Willie Nelson, Heart and Bareknaked Ladies have already backed out.
Petitions asking for cancellations on Change.org has probably influenced some of the decisions not to take part in the concert in Orlando, Florida. A petition asking Martina McBride to cancel her performance has almost 28,000 supporters.
Although reps for Nelson said he pulled out because of a scheduling conflict, the Barenaked Ladies said that they were not going to perform specifically because of the documentary.
REO Speedwagon announced its cancellation on Friday. Martina McBride made the announcement on her Facebook page on Saturday.
