Major fire in Fort Myers industrial park

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers firefighters are battling a 2-alarm fire in an industrial park near Hanson Avenue and Cranford Avenue.

The fire started around 2 p.m. at a scrap yard on Cranford.  A ladder truck is being used to douse the flames which sent heavy smoke up that can be seen from miles away.

Firefighters are expected to remain on the scene until the early morning. 

Several roads in the area of the fire are closed. Evans Avenue between 100th Terrace and Hanson Street as well as Fowler and Moreno due to smoke and ash.
