Lehigh Acres double murder suspect waives extradition

WHEATLAND, Wyo. - A Lehigh Acres man wanted for double murder in Lee County waived extradition Tuesday from Wyoming.

24-year-old Steven Tompkins was being held in the Platte County jail following his arrest last week after a traffic stop in Wyoming.  Tompkins is charged with the murder of  his mother, Shelly, 55 and his brother, Daniel, 22, at their Lehigh Acres home.

Tompkins was captured along with 19-year-old Joycelin Luck of Orangeburg, South Carolina.  Luck is charged as an accessory to Tompkins crime.  She refused to waive extradition.

Additional paperwork will have to be filed in order to bring her back to Lee County.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office will not reveal when Tompkins is expected to return to Southwest Florida.  He faces two counts of 2nd degree murder.  Luck faces two counts of accessory to murder.
