Lee County threatens suit against VR Labs
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Lee County is threatening legal action against VR Labs if the company doesn't repay $4.7 million.
The County awarded the company $5 million in 2011, when the company promised to hire more than 200 people as part of a major bottling plant.
But the company has never gotten off the ground. The letter which went out Monday from the county demands the money be returned within 30 days because VR Labs "produced only a small fraction of the jobs promised."
Lee County's dealings with Bonita-based VR Labs attracting the attention of the FBI.
