Lee County deputy struck by hit and run driver
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - A Lee County Sheriff's deputy who drove up upon a traffic crash ended up being a hit and run victim Monday morning.
As the deputy got out of his cruiser at U.S. 41 and Pondella in North Fort Myers, one of the drivers involved in the crash jumped back into her vehicle and drove away. In the process, she bumped the deputy, who suffered some bumps and bruises.
The suspect was tracked down hiding at another location not far from the original crash. She was taken into custody.
Cheryl Alliano, 51, has been charged with hit and run, resisting arrest and battery on a law enforcement officer.
