Jail clerk fired for synthetic pot
FORT MYERS - The Lee County Sheriff's Office has fired an employee after she was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana.
Sylvia Thomsen had been on administrative leave from her job as a senior clerk at the Lee County Jail pending an internal investigation.
A notice of discipline shows she was fired on December 4, after having been found to violate the policy regarding synthetic narcotics and drug equipment.
Investigators say they found about 65 grams of marijuana in her home.
