ENGLEWOOD, Fla. - Charlotte County deputies are looking into the theft of 21 Christmas trees at Lemon Bay High School in Englewood Tuesday.

The school's ROTC Unit and Project Graduation received 130 trees a week ago to put up for sale as a fund-raising project.

A count of the trees this week found that 21 trees valued at $1,050 were missing from the lot.

Deputies found no signs of forcible entry into the exterior fenced-in area.  The trees had been in a tent inside the locked, fenced area.  There were no witnesses immediately located.
