GOP Congressional candidate Curt Clawson picks up key endorsement
NAPLES, Fla. - Self-styled political outsider Curt Clawson of Bonita Springs picked up a major endorsement in his bid for the 19th District Congressional seat left vacant by Trey Radel.
Clawson, a retired auto executive, won the backing of former Congressional candidate Byron Donalds. Donalds, a Tea Party darling, could be important, as he took the most votes in Collier County during the August 2012 Republican primary for the seat, that Radel eventually won.
Clawson faces a tough battle in the April 22nd special primary election facing State Senator Lizbeth Benaquisto and former State Representative Paige Kreegel and a slew of unknowns for the Republican nomination.
