CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A Freeze Watch is in effect for De Soto, Glades, Hendry, inland
Collier, inland Lee and inland Charlotte Counties late tonight and into tomorrow morning through 9 am.

A warning means freezing conditions are imminent. A freeze watch is issued when the potential for widespread temperatures to drop below 32 degrees and remain below 32 degrees for more than two hours is possible.  Freezing temperatures may damage sensitive plants, crops and can be harmful to animals.

Behind last night's strong cold front, high pressure is building in across the peninsula.  This high will allow cold north/northwesterly winds to bring in cold dry weather from the north.  Clear skies and light winds will allow for radiational cooling tonight, thus making it the coldest night of the week.

Inland communities will feel temperatures fall between 32 and 38 degrees.  Charlotte County will be 36-40 while coastal areas will be low to upper 30's and the beaches will stay a bit warmer in the mid to lower 40's.
