Fort Myers police investigate New Year's shooting
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police are looking for a suspect in connection with an early morning shooting New Year's Day.
The shooting happened in the 2600 block of Edison Avenue. The victims told police that a gold Cadillac began to follow their vehicle on Edison Avenue.
As the victims drove westbound on Edison Avenue, the Cadillac began to tailgate them. The victims attempted to get away from the Cadillac and pulled into the gas station at 2612 Edison Avenue to let the Cadillac pass.
The Cadillac followed and a black male suspect in the passenger seat leaned outside of the Cadillac and fired several shots at their vehicle striking it multiple times. The victims immediately drove away from this location and dialed 911.
Fortunately, no one was hurt in the shooting. The suspect is described as a black male approximately 23-28 years of age, dark complexion, with short twisted style hair. The suspect vehicle is described as a gold four-door, mid to late 1990’s style Cadillac.
