Fort Myers Pilot Truck Stop robbed

FORT MYERS, Fla - Lee County deputies are searching for a man that robbed the Pilot Truck Stop in Fort Myers early Monday morning.

The robbery happened just before 12:30 a.m. at the Pilot Store at 6050 Plaza Drive.  Deputies responded to the scene and set up a perimeter.

An extensive search was conducted but no suspect was found.

According to the clerk, a man entered the store with a black ski mask covering his face and white gloves on his hands. The suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. He received and undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a thin black male possibly in his 20's to 30’s and approximately 6 foot tall with shoulder length dreads. He was wearing black pants and a black long sleeve shirt. Photos of the suspect have been included.
