Dodgers release statement on Puig's SWFL arrest

LOS ANGELES, Cal. - The Los Angeles Dodgers are speaking out about the arrest of one of one of their players in Southwest Florida this weekend. 

All-Star Yaisel Puig was arrested Saturday in Collier County on a reckless driving charge. 

The Florida Highway Patrol arresting Puig after he was caught allegedly going 110 mph in a 70 mph zone on Alligator Alley. 

The Dodgers organization released this statement via Twitter: 

"We have spoken to Yasiel and made it clear that we, as an organization, are very disappointed in his recent behaviour. This is a very serious issue to us and we will continue to educate him and strive to further develope his growth off the field as a member of this community."

According to the LA Times, he was also arrested for the same thing in Tennessee back in April.

Puig signed with the Dodgers this past June as an outfielder and was on the National League All-Star team.

He also finished second in the National League Rookie of the Year voting.
