Deputies tase Fort Myers man armed with scissors
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Lee County Sheriff's deputies responding to a prowler call Sunday at a home in the 14000 block of Crooked Pond Court encountered a screaming man holding a pair of scissors.
When deputies met with the homeowner they could hear yelling and screaming coming from a guest bedroom. When they entered the room they encountered 19-year-old Damian Mathew Pierce of Fort Myers.
The deputies say Pierce turned towards them and approached with the scissors and he was tased. While on the ground Pierce continued to yell, kick and punch the deputies who wrestled to get him into handcuffs.
A search of the property found a bag that had marijuana and crystal meth.
Pierce has been charged with armed burglary, burglary with a battery, felony vandalism, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
