DUI crash injures 2 in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. - A crash early Sunday morning in Fort Myers involving alcohol injured two, one critically.

The Florida Highway Patrol charged 29-year-old Michael Giovanni Agosto of Delray Beach with DUI, DUI with serious bodily injury, driving on a suspended license and careless driving.  Agosto suffered minor injuries.

The FHP says a passenger on his motorcycle, 32-year-old Carlos Montalban of Delray Beach suffered critical injuries.

The FHP says the crash happened around 3:21 a.m. at U.S. 41 and Airport Road.  Agosto was driving north on U.S. 41 when he failed to stop for a car in front of him which had stopped for traffic.  Fortunately, the driver and two passengers in the car that was rearended escaped injury.

The impact of the crash ejected Montalban from the motorcycler.
